Obituary for Norman J. Woskey Norman J. Woskey, 89, of South Plainfield died on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Norman was born in Newark and married his childhood sweetheart Margaret Buksar in March of 1951. Shortly thereafter he was drafted into the Army and in December of 1951 was sent to Korea, where he spent the next seventeen months.
A veteran of the United States army, Norman served during the Korean War. During his service to our country, he rose from the ranks of Private to Sergeant First Class and was in the 515th M.A.M Co. stationed along the 38th Parallel. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal with two battle stars, Korean War Medal and in 2000 Mr. Woskey received the Korean War Service Medal from the Korean nation.
After returning home Norman and Margaret bought a home in South Plainfield where they had three great children: Michael, Diane, and Debra. They in turn blessed us with ten wonderful grandchildren, four granddaughters, six grandsons, six great grandsons and one great great granddaughter. Norman was a lifelong member of Local #68 Engineers.
He retired in 1991 and was a life member the South Plainfield VFW Post 6763 and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Margie who died on December 24, 2000. They were married 49 years, 8 months and three weeks to the day.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 beginning at 9:15am in McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave. , South Plainfield NJ 07080 (www. mccriskinfuneralhome.com) followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield.
