Obituary for Maria Luisa Monteferrante Middle, NJ – Maria Luisa (Renda) Monteferrante, 77, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family at her side on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Born in Mottafollone, Italy to the late Luigi and Maria (Capparelli) Renda, Maria immigrated with her family to Argentina in 1952. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Humberto and in 1968, immigrated to the United States, moving to Yonkers, NY in 1968 and finally settling in Middle in 1969.

For many years, Maria worked as a seamstress for Green Brook Regional Center in Green Brook, retiring in 2016. Her greatest love was her family and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, cleaning and exercising, especially walking. She was also a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middle.

Maria leaves behind her loving and devoted family; husband of 58 years, Humberto, son, Alex and his wife, Jo Anna of Flemington, daughter, Joann Segarra and her husband, John of Middle, brother, Michael Renda and his wife, Elsa also of Middle along with three grandchildren; Alex Monteferrante and Christina and Gabriella Segarra, nephew, Louis Renda and his wife, Donna of Bridgewater and two great-nieces, Juliana and Olivia. Visitation will be held in the Middle Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middle, NJ 08846 on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 beginning 8:30am. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 beginning 9:30am at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middle with burial to follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
