Obituary for Ollie Marie Linkous Ollie Marie “Jim” Linkous, age 95, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018 at her residence in Clinchco, VA surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cranes Nest, VA, a daughter of the late Leonard James and Minnie Blanche Johnson Linkous. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Holt Linkous; one son, Ralph Ballard Linkous; two sisters, Ethel Mae Hileman and Ruby Fleenor; three brothers, Herbert Thompkins Linkous, Bobby Lee Linkous and Charlie Howard Linkous; one sister-in-law, Betty Linkous; four brothers-in-law, Charlie Hileman, James Salyer, Calvin Castle and Carl Fleenor.

Marie was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, VA. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was the center piece to a very large and loving family after the death of her husband, Ralph in 1974.

She was a very strong lady and was a true role model to all of the family. She was known to most of the family as “Aunt Jim” and was loved by all of her sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. She attended the Clinchco Freewill Baptist Church and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith.

Marie is survived by two daughters, Judith Linkous Stanley and husband, Don of Reva, VA and Melissa Hope Linkous Ball and husband, Philip of Ashburn, VA; one son, Robert Donald “Bobby Don” Linkous and wife, Anne of Harrodsburg, KY; one daughter-in-law, Lindell Lucille Rose Linkous, Clarksville, VA; ten grandchildren, Joseph Allen Stanley and wife, Lori, Cheri Lynn Stanley Norris and husband, Kevin, Ann-Marie Metzger and husband, Lee, Carmella Marie Linkous Freeman and husband, Chris, Tracy Ann Linkous and husband, Derek Robbins, Kristina Marie Ball, Jessica Lynn Ball, Ralph Ballard “John” Linkous, Jr. and wife, Audrey Porter, the mother of John’s children, Susan Moran; Katrina Marie Linkous, and Michael David Linkous and wife, Kimberly; nineteen great grandchildren, Sarah Lynn Campbell, Carolyn Virginia Campbell, Cody Wilson Campbell, Andrea Kay Stanley, Randall Cole Stanley, Hailey Jade Chaney-Metzger, Brock Allen Metzger, Coy Metzger; Christene Lucille Linkous, John Lacy Holt Linkous, Natasha Lynn Linkous, Lacy Marie Linkous, Cameron Michael Linkous, Justin David Linkous, Victoria Ann Freeman Spears, Raegan Marie Freeman, Rylee Tate Freeman, Briley Madison Robbins, and Zoey Reece Robbins; three great great grandchildren, Dalton Cain Linkous, Annabelle Rose Samuel and Nora Marie Spears; three sisters, Mary Evelyn Salyer of Castlewood, VA, Bessie Lou Castle of Castelwood, VA and Gay Nell Linkous Seen and husband, Jim of Mount Pleasant, TX; one brother, Jerry Ray Linkous and wife, Brenda of Dante, VA; sisters-in-law, Nancy Linkous of Newport News, VA and Shirley Linkous of Castlewood, VA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Ollie Marie “Jim” Linkous will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2018 in Mullins Funeral Home Chapel, Clintwood, VA with Willard James “Subby” Holbrook officiating. Commital Services and interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2018 at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, VA.

Friends and family are as to meet at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 12:00 noon Friday. Pallbearers will be Ralph Ballard “John” Linkous, Jr., Michael Linkous, Philip Ball, Chris Freeman, Coley Stanley, and Cody Campbell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joseph Stanley, Cameron Linkous, Justin Linkous, John Linkous, Derek Robbins and Kevin Norris.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2018 in Mullins Funeral Home Chapel, Clintwood, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clinchco Missionary Baptist Church, c/o Jinger Rose, Clinchco, VA 24226 in Memory of Marie. The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to all the family, neighbors and friends that have helped to take care of Marie over the past several years.
