Obituary for Ona Mae Powell Ona Mae Powell, age 86, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 9:44a.m., Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital. Ona retired from working as a Medicine Aid at a nursing home. She was also a volunteer for the Audubon Senior Campaign.

In addition to her parents, Clarence and Lilly Holmes, Ona was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Powell and 4 brothers: Ed Vernon Holmes, Luke K. Holmes, Raymond Holmes, and Willard Holmes. Survivors include: 3 Daughters: Brenda Bishop, and her husband Bernie, of Henderson, KY Donna Spurlin, and her husband David, of Henderson, KY Sharon D. Carter, and her husband William Carter, Jr., of Evansville, IN 3 Sons: Larry Powell, and his wife Lois, of Henderson, KY Gary Powell, and his wife Glenda Powell, of Henderson, KY James Powell, of Henderson, KY 1 Brother: Forest Holmes, of Henderson, KY 10 Grandchildren 20 Great Grandchildren Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Ona’s Life Celebration from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2018 and again on Monday starting at 9:00 a.m. at Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Rev.

John Wongler officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY. Pallbearers will be grandchildren: Misty Spurlin, Jarrod Carter, Joshua Carter, Brad Powell, Brent Powell, Shawn Powell, Justin Powell, Shanon Sandefur, Michael Bishop and Tyler Floyd.
