Patricia “Pat” A. Deitz, age 82, of Carlisle died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Home in Harrisburg, PA. She was born October 29, 1935 in Kansas City, MO to the late Edward and Dorothy (Westerman) Nichols and was the widow of Laverne Dietz. Pat had retired as a Physician’s Assistant at the Yellow Breeches Family Practice in Boiling Springs.

She was a graduate of Regina High School Class of 1953 in Cincinnati, OH, and graduated from the University of Kentucky… Read More » Class of 1957 in Lexington, KY with a B.S. in Medical Technology. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Carlisle. Pat was an artist and hobbyist, enjoying painting with water colors and working in the gardens at her home.

Pat is survived by: two sons, Jonathan B. (wife Leeann) Hood of Mt. Joy, PA, Richard N. Hood of Lancaster, PA; two daughters, Sarah C. Hood of Cherry Hill, NJ, Martha Jane Hood of Mt. Joy, PA; one brother, Edward Nichols of Biloxi, MS; and six grandchildren, Jarred, Alicia, Nathan, Conner, Katarina, and Michael.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Elizabeth Anne Hood, and Mary Patricia Quickel; and one sister, Karen Nichols. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Shrine Church, 152 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA. There will be a visitation 10:00 am until the time of mass.

Burial will be at the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nature Conservancy, 2101 N. Front St., Bldg. 1-200, Harrisburg, PA 17110 Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.
