Patricia’s Obituary Patricia Rohde, age 86, of Waseca died peacefully on February 18, 2019, at her home in Waseca. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 AM on Friday, February 22, at Church of the Sacred Heart in Waseca with Fr. Gregory Leif as Celebrant.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 with a parish prayer service beginning at 7 PM on Thursday, February 21, at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Service ~ McRaith Chapel of Waseca. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Patricia Ann Rohde was born in Waseca on June 5, 1932, to George Peter and Alelaide Catherine (Feider) Madden. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School where she graduated with the class of 1950. Pat continued her education at St. Teresa College in Winona and graduated in 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education.

She taught college in Great Falls, Montana for one year before returning to Waseca. Pat met the love of her life in first grade and she eventually married Sergeant John Albert Rohde on July 9, 1955, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. For the next 20 years they travelled throughout the country while John served in the United States Marine Corps and together they raised 6 children.

They have been a part of each other’s life for 81 years. Upon retirement, they returned to Waseca. Along with staying home to raise her 6 children, Pat enjoyed being involved in several activities which included being a member of her Parish Council, Catholic Daughters, Church Circle, Religious Education teacher for 25 years, substitute teacher at Waseca High School, Softball coach, Bridge club, and craft and cards groups with friends.

Pat loved playing cards, dominoes and board games with her children and grandchildren and many Saturday and Sunday afternoons were spent doing just that. Pat will be remembered for many things but mostly for her love of her faith (she was our prayer warrior), her love for her family and friends (she was never too busy to spend time talking or playing games with anyone who happened to come to visit), and for her generosity and hospitality (you never left her house without being fed). She is already greatly missed.

Pat is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Albert Rohde; her children and their spouses: Michele Engstrom, Pete and Diane (McColley), Deb and Jim Wobschall, Marcia and John Haglund, Andy and Jenny Ellingson, and Robert; 13 grandchildren: John & (Kira) Fieldstrom, Eric and (Gwen) Engstrom; Matt and (Bethany) Rohde, Bethany Rohde; Mike and (Ali) Wobschall, Tricia Wobschall, Marcus Wobschall; Kim Haglund, Katie and (Lucas) Johnson, Erin and (Mike) Lund, Mary and (Sheridan) West; Will Rohde, and Stephanie Rohde; 9 great grandchildren: Jack and Randall Fieldstrom; Ellie and Tate Rohde, Ila, Leo and Lucy Wobschall, Alex Johnson, and Christopher Lund; sister, Rita Meier of Winona, MN; sister-in-law, Jeanne Hofmeister of Waseca; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom and Peggy Rohde of Santa Rosa, California; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law and father in law, Mary Delphine (Della) (Johnson) Rohde and Francis Albert Rohde; sister, Mary Margaret Groebner (1974), great grandson Lux Matthew Wobschall (2018), and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and two nieces.
