Premier, WV—Patricia Ann Shaw 65, of Premier WV went home to be with the Lord Saturday February 9, 2019. Born February 7, 1954 in McDowell County, WV, Patricia was the daughter of the late Amos McCoy Ross Sr. and Dorothy Lenora Ross Martin. Patricia was preceded in death by one Brother Charles Leon Ross, one sister Audrey Renee Mitchell and stepfather Clarence Martin.

Patricia was educated in Mercer County Public Schools and also attended college in Chicago. She returned home and completed her education at Concord College where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences. Patricia served 4 years active military duties for the U.S. Navy & 16 years U.S. Army reserve, upon her completion she was Corpsman Staff Sergeant in the Navy.

Patricia was employed with Southern Highlands CHMC, Welch WV for 38 years. She attended church at Mt. Ebenezer Baptist Church in Algoma.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Alvie (Lydia) Shaw of Ohio, five sisters Linda (Bruce) Brown, Peggy Hudson, Shelby Smalls, Beverly (Quentin) Crenshaw, and Leslie Martin all of Bluefield , and one brother Amos M. Ross Jr., of Bluefield, special friend Kathy Wyatt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts. A celebration of life will be held at Greater Mount Zion Pentecostal Church 104 Park St, Bluefield, WV 24701. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday and the service at 1 pm.

Military honors given under the direction of the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens 250 Courthouse Road Princeton, WV. Services entrusted to Mercer Funeral Home, 1231 W. Cumberland Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701 Bluefield, WV.
