OBITUARY Patricia M. Eakes September 28, 1929 – September 27, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Patricia “Pat” Eakes 88, of Cartersville, GA passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018. Pat was born September 28, 1929 in Enka, NC to Evelyn Hughes Morrell and John O. Morrell. In 1951, Pat received a B.A. in Education from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

Pat enjoyed playing bridge, reading, needlepoint and she was a generous and compassionate woman to her family and friends. Her generosity extended to her philanthropic support of the children’s shelter of Cartersville, Meals On Wheels, Georgia Highlands College and Heritage Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She and her late husband, Bill, enjoyed giving back to the community in which they resided for almost 60 years.

Mrs. Eakes is preceded in death by her husband, James H. Eakes. Son, James W. Eakes, of Suwanee, Georgia and daughter, Jennifer L. Walden (Robert) of Naples, Florida. Pat is survived by her son, Carlton E. Eakes of San Diego, California, daughter –in-law, Pamela Eakes Hackett(Terry) of Stuart, Florida, grandchildren; Lindsey Brown Eakes (Kim) of Boston, Massachusetts, Rachel Kenny and Erin Krescanco both of California, niece, Debbie West (Danny), nephew, Charles Eakes and sister-in-law, Grace Goodwin.

A funeral service for Pat will be conducted at Heritage Baptist Church, 1070 Douthit Ferry Rd. , Cartersville, Monday, October 1, 2018 at eleven o’clock in the morning with the Rev. Michael Tutterow officiating.

A private interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends at Heritage Baptist Church Monday, October 1, 2018 from ten o’clock in the morning until the service hour. Memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.
