Obituary for Patricia “Pat” Walters Patricia “Pat” Walters, 77, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at her home in Garden City. She was born April 13, 1941 in Hickman, Kentucky, the daughter of Ira & Thelma (Anderson) Vaughn. As a child, Pat moved with her family to Grand Rapids, Michigan.

In 1966, she moved to Ft. Myers, Florida, later moving to Garden City, Kansas in 1975. She has lived in Garden City since.

Pat was a long time Registered Nurse at St. Catherine Hospital. She has been a member of the Eagles Lodge in Garden City since 2002. Pat enjoyed cross-stitching, painting, going to casinos, she had a love for her dogs, and as an avid sports fan she loved the Denver Broncos.

On April 19, 1958, she married Melvin Hoezee in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pat later married John F. Walters II on September 11, 1987 in Garden City, Kansas. John died on September 24, 2017.

Pat is also preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers; and 1 sister. Survivors include 6 children Tami & husband Patrick Wells of Garden City, Kathy & husband Thomas Winter of Garden City, Linda & husband Gene Greer of Garden City, Michael Hoezee of Garden City, James & wife Karen Walters of Hagerman, Idaho, and Rebecca & husband Joe Roquemore of Ponca City, Oklahoma; 2 sisters Sue & husband Les Tudor of Dorr, Michigan and Peggy Armstrong of Punta Gorda, Florida; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Church of the Brethren in Garden City with Von Hunn and Bob Bates officiating.

A private family interment will take place at a later date at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday all at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo in care of the funeral home.
