Obituary for Harriet Lewis Dighton- Harriet M. Lewis, 86, died on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born on September 29, 1931 at Beeler, the daughter of Karl & Maude (Thomas) Knauf. She married Lyle E. Lewis on June 9, 1950 at Kansas City, Kansas.

He died on November 1, 2011 Harriet graduated from Beeler High School. When she and her husband returned from Kansas City to Dighton she worked at several businesses, including Frigid Crème, Dart-In, cleaned houses, interior painter and was most known as the cook at Dighton Bowl. She was a member of First Christian Church of Dighton, Christian Women’s Fellowship, American Legion Auxiliary and PTA.

She enjoyed bowling, puzzles, her flower garden, her KU collection, cheering on the Jayhawks and spoiling her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Son- Darin Lee Lewis, 3 Sisters- Edna Lomax, Essie Ann Tyler and Esther Sculley & 2 Brothers- Johnny Knauf and Derry Knauf. Survivors include 2 Sons- Larry Lewis of Kansas City, Missouri and Bentz Lewis of Dighton, 2 Daughters- Denise Kobler of Topeka and Reba Bayuk of Wakeeney, Brother- Jerry Knauf of Rozel, 9 Grandchildren & 21 great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday at First Christian Church in Dighton with Rev Aerii Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, Kidney Foundation or American Lung Association in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.
