Obituary for Raymond Eves Garden City- Raymond O. Eves, 75, died on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at his home. He was born on October 23, 1942 at Garden City the son of Joseph & Rosamond (James) Eves. Raymond grew up in Lakin and graduated from Lakin High School & marries Judith Frazer in 1960.

Raymond was an entrepreneur so was involved with multiple businesses & interests. On February 28, 1987 he married Jayne Downtain & moved to Garden City. In 1989 he started R.O. Eves Trucking, hauling feed and grain in the surrounding states.

He retired from the trucking business in 2010. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lakin and a lifetime member of Emerald Lodge No 289 of Lakin. He served on the board of The Garden City State Bank & recently on the Kearny County Historical Society board.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, reading, fixing up old cars and working with any kind of equipment. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Son- Gary Duane Eves & 2 Brothers- Daryl Eves and Don Eves. He is survived by his Wife-Jayne Eves of the Home, Daughter- Toni Miller of Lexington, Nebraska, 2 Sons- David Eves of Wichita and John Eves & wife Agnes of Buckeye, Arizona, 2 Step-Daughters- Debra Glenn of Garden City and Laura Swank & Husband Dale of Edmond, Oklahoma, Brother- Edgar Eves of Sublette, Sister- Phyllis Hendrix of Lakin, 11 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, & 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Lakin with Rev Rita Stockton officiating. Burial will be in Lakin Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 8:00 Pm Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
