Patricia Zita Petrie (nee Moudry) passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg at the age of 94 years. Pat was born in Farmington, Minnesota on August 21, 1923. Her parents were James Michael and Blanche Collete (nee Neville) Moudry.

She was the first woman to work for Litchfield & Madison.
Pat married Robert “Bob” Ernest Petrie on August 21, 1948, at the Church of the Gesu on the campus of Marquette University in Milwaukee, where they were both students. She graduated with a degree in speech from Marquette. Pat and Bob were among the founding members of the Brown Deer Theatre, which put on numerous and well-received plays in the 1960s and 1970s.
She worked for The Butler Paper Company in Milwaukee and The Purple Puff beauty salon. Pat and Bob produced many charitable variety shows for PTA groups in the Brown Deer area, and she was the master of ceremonies for fashion shows at the Milwaukee Home Show. Pat wrote a book called “Poetisms” and was a columnist on fashion for a pro football magazine during the Packers championship years in the 1960s.
She was a big fan of the Milwaukee Braves and especially Eddie Mathews and Henry Aaron. Pat was outgoing and vivacious and had many, many friends who will remember her bright red hair, grace and style. Pat’s favorite song was “Hello Dolly,” and she was serenaded by the many who attended her 90th birthday in August 2013.
Pat moved from Milwaukee to Florida in 1976 and lived in Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach, where she worked at Burdine’s department store. She moved to Cedarburg in 2006 and lived at the Fischer Terrace apartments. At Lasata Care Center, Pat enjoyed playing bingo, socializing and having her meals with her regular table mates.
She also enjoyed dining at the Alpine Village and Alpine Retreat restaurants, owned and operated by her son Steve and his wife, Cindy. Pat was a loving mother who leaves behind a large family, which was her proudest achievement. She is survived by her six children: Kathleen (Alan) Allison of Spokane, Washington, Bridget Alley of Edmonton, Kentucky and her dear friend Lloyd Tewksbury, Robert Patrick Petrie and his spouse, Melissa Olson-Petrie of Cedarburg, James (Jan) Petrie of Port Washington, Stephen (Cindy) Petrie of Cedarburg, and Mary Pat Petrie of Deerfield Beach, Florida.
She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her cousin, Mary Nelson of South Milwaukee. Pat’s husband and parents preceded her in death.
A Memorial Service and Life’s Celebration will be held for Pat this summer to remember a full life, well lived. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff members at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg for the wonderful care they provided for Pat in recent years.
