Obituary of Patricia Leonard Patricia A. “Pat” Leonard, 78, of Lakewood, NY, passed away at 9:56 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, in her home, surrounded by her family during her last days. She fought a courageous four year battle with Scleroderma and pulmonary fibrosis. A lifelong area resident, she was born June 20, 1939 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Katherine D. “Kate” Ditonto Floccare.

Pat was a 1957 graduate of Jamestown High School. Before her retirement, she was employed as a customer service representative with the Social Security Administration for over 20 years, working at the Jamestown office. In previous years she had worked for Warren Howard Architect and the former Watson Manufacturing Company.

Pat will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed hosting family pool parties, cooking Italian food and dining out as well as tending to her flower gardens. She loved spending time with her family which meant everything to her, especially during these last several years.

Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Gary A. Leonard whom she married April 9, 1976, her five children and step-children; Todd (Pam) Steele of Martinez, GA, Karen (Kevin) Palmquist of Jamestown, NY, Patricia (Jake) Searle of Randolph, NY, Susan (Daniel) Hettenbaugh of Kennedy, NY, Katherine (Lawrence) Jay of Lancaster, NY, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Norma Floccare and her nieces and nephews, Lisa (Scott) Cooper, Dr. Douglas (Terri) Floccare and Andrew (Lesley) Floccare. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory Scott Steele and her brother, Dr. Anthony J. Floccare who died November 18, 2014.

A private family memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd.
