Obituary for Gertrude Emily Ostrander Gertrude Emily “Trudy” Ostrander, 96, formerly of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, Jamestown, NY. She was born on May 22, 1921 in Napoli, NY, the daughter of the late Ernest and Emily Waite. Trudy graduated from Randolph Central.

She worked at AVM (Automatic Voting Machine) for many years. She loved tending to her gardens, walking, dancing and baking. She will be remembered for her sweet smile and sparkling blue eyes.

She had a passion for chocolate chip cookies. Trudy is survived by her niece, Martha Burgess of Rochester, NY and her sister-in-law, Alta O. Martenson, of Lakewood, NY, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Alden W. Ostrander and an infant daughter: Ronda Ostrander, a sister: Helen Tarbox and a brother: Gerald Waite.

Funeral services are private. Memorial contributions may be made to Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home, 316 East Fifth Street, Jamestown, NY.
