Obituary of Joseph Trusso, Jr. Joseph Trusso, Jr., 86, of 10 Hampton Lane, Jamestown, passed away at 1:11 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018, in the emergency room of UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital. A lifelong area resident, he was born September 9, 1931 in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Joseph R. and Laura Pascatore Trusso. Joe was a 1952 graduate of Jamestown High School and was very proud to be a member of the 1949 Jamestown High School undefeated football team.
He also attended Jamestown Community College. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1952-1956,achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. Before his retirement, Joe was employed as a separator repairman at MRC-SKF Bearings for 40 years.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 338. Joe was a very active citizen of the Jamestown and Chautauqua County area. He was a passionate member of the Chautauqua County Democratic Party for over 60 years and served as a Chautauqua County Legislator for 37 years, where he served on numerous boards and committees over the years.
Joe was a member of the Jamestown Planning Commission and a member of the Lost Neighborhood. He was a Past President of The Re Center and remained an active member of the TRC Board and Advisory Committees. Joe was a life time member and strong advocate of the Jamestown Boys and Girls Club.
He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. His other local memberships include the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Sampson Air Force Base Veterans Alumni, the Jamestown Moose Lodge, the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, the Marco Polo Club and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Jane Dioguardi Trusso whom he married July 21, 1956, three children, Laura A. Trusso of Rochester, NY, Joseph P. (Donna) Trusso, Phillip J. (Stephanie) Trusso both of Jamestown, three grandchildren, Joseph G. Trusso, Marc C. Trusso both of Jamestown, Sloane L. Trusso of Columbus, OH and two sisters, Concetta Riolo of Bemus Point, NY, Patricia (Merrill) Rosen of Jamestown.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Cecilia Blanchard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev.
Darrrell G. Duffy, pastor and Deacon Michael Lennon will be celebrants. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 8:45 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
