Obituary for Paul R. Zink Paul R. Zink, 94, of Wapakoneta, died 10:10 p.m., Mon. Nov. 5, 2018, at Wapakoneta Manor.

He was born Nov. 14, 1923, in Duchouquet Twp. , Auglaize Co., the son of Adolph & Anna (Bustetter) Zink.

On Sept. 10, 1946, he married Evelyn Place, and she died Aug. 18, 2008.

Survivors include, 4 children, Patricia (Garry) Wooley, Wapakoneta, M. Jane Wheelock, West Milton, OH, Paul D. (Dianna) Zink, Wapakoneta, & John M. (Penny) Zink, Wapakoneta, daughter-in-law, Beverly (Joe) Hurlburt, St. Marys, OH, and 15 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his youngest son, Steven J. Zink; 3 sisters & spouse, Sister Helen Marie, Dorothy Zink, & Rosemary (Clifford) Newman; and a brother, Jerry Zink. A farmer, Paul retired form the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, after 35 years of service.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, and served with the 509th Fighter Squadron in the European Theater during W.W. II. A horse trainer and driver, Paul was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and the Auglaize Co. Horseman’s Association. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, Wapakoneta, and the Mercer Co. Horseman’s Association.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Fri. Nov. 9, 2018, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln Ave (St. Rt.

501) Wapakoneta, with Fr. Jarred Kohn officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445.

The family will receive family and friends from 11:00 a.m., until time of the service, Fri. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
