–Pauline M. (Nason) Johnson, 94, formerly of Mendon died Mon. September 24, 2018 at Creekside Care Center in Stockton, CA. She was the wife of the late Roy O. Johnson who died in 1995 after 51 years of marriage.

Mrs. Johnson was born March 21, 1924 in Hopedale, daughter of the late Carl Muller and Fannie P. (Nealley) Yanco and raised by the late Ernest B. and Mary H. (Nealley) Nason, and had lived all of her life in Hopedale and Mendon before moving to California in Jan. 2001. She… Read More » graduated from Mendon High School in 1942 and was the first woman hired to work in the former Draper Corp.

main office. Mrs. Johnson was the assistant treasurer and business manager for the Mendon-Upton Regional School system for many years, retiring in 1981 after 16 years with the school dept. Previously she was the secretary to Wilho Frigard & Anthony Gulla, the principals for the Nipmuc Regional High School.

She was involved in the Girl Scouts for 20 years as a Brownie leader. Mrs. Johnson was a former member and officer of the Pythian Sisters of Hopedale and a member of the Upton Women’s Club, Friends of Mendon Elders and served on Council On Aging board. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Mendon Baptist Church, serving as deaconess, organist and Sunday school superintendent for 25 years.

She organized and led the Mendon Baptist Church’s youth choir and was a youth leader and a member of the church’s women’s club. She is survived by one son Lloyd A. and his wife April-Ann Johnson of Niantic, CT, two daughters; Edith L. and her husband Thomas Boogusch of Stockton, CA and Linda M. and her husband Timothy Reed of Copperopolis, CA, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister Carlia Moroney who died in 2003.

Visiting hours will be held Sat. September 29, 2018 from 10- 11 AM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford, MA 01757. Funeral services will follow Sat.

September 29, 2018 at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery, Rte. 16, Hopedale.
