Obituary of Penny Lee Beck Spencer Penny Beck Spencer, 60, of Bear Creek went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 after years of declining health with her loving husband by her side at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Born in Chatham County on November 7, 1957 to Geneva Hilliard Beck and the late Cecil Earl Beck. Penny was a graduate of Chatham Central High School and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Bear Creek.

She enjoyed fishing and trips to the coast. She is survived by her husband: Carl Spencer of the home; her “furr babies”, Lucy, Cocoa and Bubba; mother, Geneva (Hilliard) Beck of Genesis Health & Rehab, sisters, Helen (Junior) Emery of Harmony, Shirley B. Jordan of Bear Creek; one brother: Johnnie E. Beck (Diane) of Lemon Springs; numerous nieces, nephews and numerous great-grand nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 HWY 64 West, Siler City with Rev. Bob Wachs officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.
