Saratoga Springs, NY Peter Donald Marquis passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on January 22nd, 2019. Peter was born on September 23rd, 1941 to his father, Romeo Marquis, and mother, Dorothy Marquis, in Salem, Massachusetts. Peter is survived by his loving spouse of fifty years, Lynnell Marquis; two daughters, Alexandra Marquis (husband Michael Smith), Susanna Marquis (husband Seth Striar), and three sons: Garret Marquis (wife Dr. Rebekah Marquis), Major Jae Marquis (wife Anastasia Marquis), Ein Marquis (wife Kristen Marquis), and seven beautiful grandchildren: Patrick, Alexandra, Maximilian, Ashton, Eli, Aiden, and Avery.

Peter was a graduate of Bentley College and Columbia University. After relocating to Galway, NY from Newburyport, MA in 1973, he began his very successful career in banking. Later, he was a successful entrepreneur and owned Service Linen Supply in Schenectady, NY and Palmetto Fruit Company and Market in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Always interested in his community and service, Peter served in the US Army, was involved in the Schenectady Boy’s Club, Schenectady Historical Society, Northeast Parent and Child Society and President of the Galway Central School District’s Board of Education for eleven years. Peter was also very active in local politics. A private service will be held in Peter’s memory at, Tunison Funeral Home 105 Lake Ave.
