OBITUARY Phillip Jennings April 2, 1940 – January 28, 2019 Phillip Jennings, 78, of Greeneville, grew up in the Greystone Community of Greene County. He served in the U.S. Army in the mid 1960’s, stationed in Alaska. He began a 20 year career at Magnavox after returning to Greene County from his military service.

Mr. Jennings worked for the Greene County Highway Department for over 15 years following his retirement from Magnavox. He came back to the Greystone Community to live out his life following his retirement from the Highway Department. After several years of declining health and suffering a tragic stroke, he departed this life to his permanent heavenly home on January 29th.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Marguerite Jennings; two brothers, Paul Dean and Stanley Jennings; and a sister: Arlene Jennings. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: Renee and Randy Dunbar; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Roma Jean and Billy Noland and Charlotte and Gene Wilhoit; his grandchildren and their children: Brock Dunbar and Rachel Phillips, Makayla and Brody Phillips, Codey and Brooke Dunbar; great grandchildren: Kielee and Paisley Dunbar; and his nieces and nephews: Eddie Jennings, Cindy Wilhoit, Paula Campbell, and Brian Wilhoit. The family will receive friends 2-7 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeff Blake officiating. Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Greystone Cemetery.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may bring food to the funeral home for the family.
