Obituary for Phillip Ray Myers Phillip Ray Myers, age 61, of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Phillip was born in Elizabethton to the late Teddy Ray Myers and Hannah Nave Myers Fair. Phillip was a 1975 graduate of Unaka High School, where he played football and was an Eagle Scout.

He had worked in both the manufacturing sector and as a correctional officer. Phillip was a United States Army veteran, where he served for four years and four months and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was also a licensed minister and a mechanic.

Phillip attended Northside Baptist Church. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Samuel Ray Myers and wife Katlyn, of Elizabethton, TN; his daughter, Sarah LeAnne Myers Kolseth and husband Blake, of West Jefferson, NC; and four grandchildren, Leia Aubrey Kolseth, Ella Rosaline Kolseth, Ava Renee Kolseth, Kadence Renee Myers, all of Elizabethton and one granddaughter expected in February; his step father, Alfred Fair, of Elizabethton; his step brother, Johnny Fair, of Elizabethton; his mother-in-law, Margaret Welch, of Elizabethton; his sister-in-law, Julie Storie, of Elizabethton; a niece, Susan Chapman and husband Rodney, of VA; his nephews, Robert “Bobby” Myers and wife Melanie, Shawn Fair and wife Holly, Stacey Fair, and Tristen Storie; and a great niece, Haley Fair. A visitation will be conducted from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton or at the residence of his son, please call (423) 213-4869 in advance of visiting.

A service to honor the life of Phillip Ray Myers will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Dennis Wilson, officiating. The graveside service will be conducted at 1:45 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by Carter County Honor Guard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tristen Storie, Blake Kolseth, Robert “Bobby” Myers and Johnny Fair.
