Phillip Wayne Witte, age 53, of Montgomery City, MO, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at his home. Phillip was born on May 30, 1965 in Washington, Missouri, he was a son of Howard & Virginia Maxine (Wiss) Witte, who both survive in Rhineland. He is also survived by a brother, Steve Witte of Fulton, Missouri; a sister Janet Cobb & husband Dave of Montgomery City, Missouri; a sister JoAnn Mattingly & husband Dave of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; a brother John Witte & wife Jeanie of Hermann; a sister Mary Ellen McCleary of Jefferson City, Missouri; a brother Keith Witte & wife Sheila of Hermann, Missouri; a sister Linda Ochs & husband Greg of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; a brother Brad Witte & wife Susan of Fenton, Missouri; a sister Tina Hartzell & husband Scott of, Gaylordsville, Connecticut; a brother Mike Witte & wife Cheryl of Wentzville, Missouri; and a brother Tim Witte, of Forest Hill, Maryland; and by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a brother David Witte, a sister-in-law Debra Witte, and a brother-in-law Robert McCleary. Phillip was a member of the Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, and the 3rd Degree of Knights of Columbus, Montgomery City. Phil was an avid walker and would often visit with people along his way.

He always had a joke or prank up his sleeve and loved to make people laugh. He loved animals and the cats he has had over the years were doted upon and spoiled rotten. He loved working puzzles and playing computer games.

He enjoyed going to garage sales and adding items to his various collections. He had a fascination with building and observed carpenters and other workers when he had the opportunity. During the building of Valentine Hall in Starkenburg he was there every work day to help out anyway he could.

At the end of the day he would sweep and clean up so the workers could start without a mess the next day. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 3rd from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

A funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Rhineland. Memorials may be given to Thompson Center “Center for Autism”, Columbia.
