Phyllis Jean Foley, 74, of Carmi, passed away at 4:19 a.m., on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born in Albion, IL on May 25, 1944 the daughter of Eugene Albert and Maude Elizabeth (Hodgson) Hortin. Phyllis married Ronald Eugene Foley on September 17, 1966.

She worked as a cook at the Carmi VFW for 30 years and also worked for Addas Home Care Services for 18 years. She was a member of the Browns Chapel United Methodist Church in Albion, IL. Phyllis loved country music and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronald; three sons, Brad (Robin) Foley, of Mt. Vernon, IN, Brian (Mindie) Foley, of Norris City and Kevin (Nancy) Foley, of Carmi; sister, Judy Koehler, of Carmi; brother, Larry (Shirley) Hortin, of West Salem; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Linda Mendenhall and Sharon Schroeder.

Funeral services for Phyllis Jean Foley, 74, of Carmi, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis’ memory to the Carmi VFW or to the family to assist with medical expenses and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
