Phyllis June Morgan was born May 24, 1933, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Elmer and Leota Rumage. She had two brothers, Jerry and David. She passed from this life on June 19, 2018, in Edmond, surrounded by her family and friends.

Phyllis met Wayne Morgan and, after a whirlwind courtship, they fell in love and were married on May 4, 1951. At the time of Wayne’s death in 2006, they had been married 55 years. Phyllis and Wayne had three children – Mike, Elaine and Gary.

They loved their children’s spouses as their own, so Becky, Kathy, George and Dena were always considered their children as well. Phyllis also loved and cherished Brenda, Jerry and Dearl and will always hold them close to her heart. Little did Phyllis and Wayne know that they would start a family that would eventually grow and add seven grandchildren – Chad, Jenny, Dusty, Scott, Clay, Rusty and Kathryn; and ten great-grandchildren – Brayden, Kennedy, Wesley, Rebecca, Brynlee, Lydia, Kenzie, Hadley, Jessica and Rylee, as well as a host of close family and friends.

You see, in our family, if you are friends with one of us, you are friends with all of us! Phyllis impacted everyone she encountered during her life. She taught Bible school for over 60 years; she worked with the Nelsons at Daylight Donuts, and she was an avid youth group volunteer – teaching classes, going to church camp, and helping to organize golden age banquets, campus nights and special events.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents, Elmer and Leota; her brothers, David and Jerry; and her daughter-in-law, Becky. A visitation will be held on Thursday June 21st, from 5-7 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan. A funeral service will be held the following morning, Friday, June 22nd, at the Eastside Church of Christ in Duncan at 10:00 A.M. Everyone is invited to join the family for a reception following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Westview Boys Home, PO Box 553, Hollis, OK 73550, in honor of Phyllis J. Morgan. Online condolences may be made to the family at www. whittfh.com.
