Phyllis Jeanne “Pidge” Fuller, 81, of Portsmouth, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth. She was born December 16, 1936 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Howard Frederick and Virginia Arnold Higgins Zeisler. Phyllis was a 1954 Portsmouth High School graduate and she received Bachelor of Arts and Science degrees from Ohio University.

While at OU she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority and she was an avid Trojan and Bobcat fan. A retired social worker, Phyllis had worked at Hillcrest, the former Scioto County Children’s Home, Heartland Nursing Home and the Area Agency on Aging. She was a former member of the Portsmouth Rotary Club and she served on the Portsmouth City School Board for over 20 years.

She was also a past president of the former Scioto Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and she enjoyed traveling and camping. Phyllis also loved her family’s camp, the Stoney Hollow Lodge (Fabulous Fanny’s) in Doddridge County, WV. While there she enjoyed swimming, cooking for family and friends and playing bridge on many wonderful “Girls’ Trips”.

Surviving are two sons, Willard Lynn (Stephanie) Fuller IV of Parkersburg, WV and Timothy Wayne Fuller of Portsmouth; her former husband, W. Lynn Fuller III of Portsmouth; a brother, James Howard Zeisler of Daytona Beach, FL; two grandsons, Kyle Higgins Fuller of Cincinnati and Denver Lee Fuller of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD; a brother-in-law, Sam Schwamberger of Circleville; six granddogs, Mitzi, Olive, Piper, Sadie, Missy and Marley; and three very special caregivers, Lois Hardin, Lorie Bradley and Mary Mullett. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Janet Ellen Schwamberger. A Celebration of Life will be held at noon, Saturday, May 12 at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev.

Greg Carter officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
