Quincie’s Obituary Quincie Faye Whitaker was born to Ethel Mae (Ball) Rush and Richard Rush in Charleston, Missouri on August 19, 1952. She attended Elementary School in Charleston, Missouri and the family moved to Cairo, Illinois where she attended Cairo Junior High School and graduated from Cairo High School. After High School Quincie went on to attend Shawnee Community College and received an associates degree, She also attended SIU in Carbondale, Illinois where she completed her under graduate school and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Quincie married Ernest Whitaker in 1972, he preceded her in death. This union was blessed with many years of marital happiness. She was a member of Bethel Temple Church of God in Christ in Mounds, IL.

She served the Church as former First Lady, she taught Sunday School and currently she was a Missionary of the Church. She worked several different jobs over the years; The Department of Corrections, Jamp Special Education, Delta Center and her last employment was a Daycare Provider where she opened her home to many children. She transitioned from this life on Monday February 25, 2019 in Cairo, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elder Ernest Whitaker, SR. , and one son Gerald Whitaker. She leaves to cherish her memory seven children: Tammy Whitaker, Ernest Whitaker, Jr., Tabitha Whitaker, James Whitaker, Shataka (Joe) Jang, Bonita (Lawrence) Copeland and Lamar Lynch.

She also leaves four sisters; Niqula Ousley, Barbara Vaughn, Denise (Greg) Dixon, Larnice Rush, two brothers, Kenneth (Sandra) Rush and Elton Robinson and a host of In-Laws, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Services for Quincie Faye Whitaker will be held on Saturday March 9, 2019 at the Cairo High School in Cairo, IL. Friends may call at the School on Saturday from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.

Funeral will follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, IL. Arrangements were Entrusted to Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, IL.
