Rae Materessa, of Murrells Inlet, SC, and long-time resident of the New Haven area passed away peacefully April 23, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of the late Matthew Materessa. Born on Wooster St. in New Haven May 22, 1921, the daughter of Matteo and Rose Guidone Infante, Rae was an inspector for Automotive Controls Co. for many years.

She was a member of the St. Trofimena Society, which her father was a founding member. Beloved mother of Maryellen (David) D’Argento, with whom she resided and Diane (Sal) Benelli. Sister of Mary Gargano and the late Annette Norup, Carmelina Bornman, and Emilio and Benjamin Infante.

Loving grandmother of Michelle Koncz, Dennis (Nicole) Corriveau Jr., Cheryl and Gina D’Argento, and Louis Jr., David and Jeffrey (Julie) Holyst. Great grandmother of Adam Saldana, Jaxson DeCola, Matthew and Avery Corriveau, Michael Girardi, and Veronica, Ava, and Olivia Holyst. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday morning at 10 in St. Michael Church 29 Wooster Place in New Haven. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. is in care of the arrangements.
