Obituary for Ralph F. Howell Ralph F. Howell, 81, of Wapakoneta, died 8:53 a.m., Wed. Oct. 24, 2018, at Roselawn Manor, Spencerville.
He was born Aug. 16, 1937, in Rockford, OH, the son of Russell & Helen (Owens) Howell, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Clarabelle Stover Howell.
On Oct. 17, 1959, he married Betty E. Coil, and she survives. Other survivors include, 3 daughters, Annette Sue (Craig) Cox, Spencerville, OH, Diane L. (Daniel) Drysdale, Ft.
Wayne, IN, & Kay Keller, Cleveland, OH, 9 grandchildren & 21 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Joe Howell, Convoy, OH, Larry (Linda) Howell, Rockford, OH, & Tom (Eleanor) Howell, Perrysburg, OH. In addition to his parents & step-mother, Ralph was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Terry Keller. Ralph worked at International Harvester, Ft.
Wayne, IN, and retired from Navistar, Springfield, OH. After retirement, he and Betty moved to Florida for over 20 years. He was a graduate of Rockford High School, and served in the Ohio National Guard.
Ralph was a member of the First Church of God, Cape Coral, FL; the Lions Club of Angola, IN; and the International Order of the Oddfellows. He enjoyed horse racing, making hook rugs, and doing yard work while in Florida. He especially enjoyed bird watching and according to his family could whistle bird sounds of over 30 birds.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sat. Oct. 27, 2018, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln Ave.
(St. Rt. 501), Wapakoneta, with Pastor Daniel Hubb officiating. Burial is to follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, OH.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Fri. Oct. 26, and 1-2 p.m., Sat.
