Obituary for Roger D. Moellenkamp Roger D. Moellenkamp, 79, of Wapakoneta, died 12:45 a.m., Sat. Oct. 13, 2018, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Nov. 27, 1938, in New Knoxville, OH, the son of Milford & Louise (Stolzenburg) Moellenkamp, who preceded him in death. On Jan.
23, 1960, he married Sally L. Brading, and she passed away Dec. 5, 2013. Survivors include, 2 daughters, Linda (Craig) Brown, Wapakoneta, Amy (John Michael, Jr.) Robbins, Charlotte, NC, 4 grandchildren, Saira Brown, Emilie Brown, Sally Robbins, & John Michael Robbins, III, a brother, Harold (Lois) Moellenkamp, Wapakoneta, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy (Robert) VanSkiver, Becky Kohlrieser, and Judy (Wayne) Kentner, and a special friend, Eileen, who brought Roger much joy and companionship the past few years.
He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Shirley Richardson and a brother-in-law, Richard Kohlrieser. Roger worked 30 years as a sales representative with Philip Morris, Inc He was a graduate of New Knoxville High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Roger was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta. He was also a member of the Wapakoneta Lions Club, where he served as president, received the “Lion of the Year” Award and the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for dedication to humanitarian services. His hobbies included reading, taking walks, spending time with his family and friends, and attending auto shows.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Sat. Oct. 20, 2018, at First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Neil Brady officiating.
Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445. The family will receive family and friends 5-8 p.m., Fri. Oct.
19, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln Ave. , (St. Rt. 501) Wapakoneta, and 1 hr.
prior to the service Sat. , at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First English Lutheran Church or the Wapakoneta Lions Club.
