Obituary for Juanita M. Swanbeck Juanita M. Swanbeck, 91, of Wapakoneta, died 3:58 p.m., Wed. Nov. 14, 2018, at Lima Memorial Health.

She was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Kimbolton, OH, the daughter of Frank & Bessie (Thompson) Gibson, who preceded her in death. On April 21, 1946, she married Lewis Swanbeck, and he died Aug.

20, 2017. Survivors include, a son Larry (Phyllis) Swanbeck, Sr., Longwood, FL, 15 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Juanita had worked at several local stores including Flowers by Dudleys. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta, where she served on the board and sang with the adult choir for many years. An avid golfer, Juanita was a member of the Wapakoneta Country Club and the first woman to serve on the board of directors.

Her other memberships included the ladies auxiliary of the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445, and the American Legion Post #330. She was a life member of the Soroptimist International. In 1993, she received the “Employee of the Year” award from the Chamber of Commerce.

Juanita volunteered for many years at Lima Memorial Hospital, and local nursing homes. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tues. Nov.

27, 2018, at First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta. Burial of her cremated remains will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive family and friends from 10 a.m. until time of service, Tues.
