Obituary for Carol Mae Wagner Carol M. Wagner, 88, of Wapakoneta, died 7:57 a.m., Sun. Nov. 11, 2018, at Wapakoneta Manor.

She was born Jan. 5, 1930, in rural New Bremen, OH, the daughter of Harry & Gertrude (Prueter) Quellhorst, who preceded her in death. On Sept.

21, 1956, she married Donald L. Wagner, and he died Oct. 7, 1994. Survivors include, 3 children, Vicki (Jeff) Knoch, Uniopolis, OH, Debbie (Tommy) Darnell, Chapin, SC, Donnie (Amanda) Wagner, McCordsville, IN, 7 grandchildren, Zeb (Sara) Knoch, Heather (Joe) Huelskamp, Matthew Darnell, Betsy Darnell, Allie Wagner, Davis Wagner, & Brady Wagner, 2 great grandchildren, Ellie Huelskamp & Tucker Knoch, and several cousins, nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings & spouses, Jeanne (Bob) Koch, David (Jeanette) Quellhorst, and an infant brother Paul Quellhorst. Carol graduated from St. Mary’s Memorial High School in 1948 and was also a graduate of the Lima Beauty Academy. She retired from Copeland Corp.

, Sidney, Ohio and later worked at the Wapakoneta Daily News. Carol was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta, American Legion, Post #330 and Wapakoneta Noon Optimists. Carol was an avid card player and organized card leagues at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691 and Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post, 8445 where she was also a member of the ladies auxiliary.

She enjoyed playing bingo and wintering in Florida. She was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed taking charter fishing trips to Lake Erie. Carol was a passionate fan of The Ohio State University and the Cincinnati Reds.

She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and dance recitals. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday November 16, 2018, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, Pastor Becky Sunday officiating.

Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Thurs. and 1 hr.
