Obituary for Jean Marie Bell Jean Marie (Kentner) Bell, 80, of Panama City Beach, Fla,. died 8:10 am, Monday, November 5, 2018 at Capital Regional Medical Center, Tallahassee, FL, of complications from pancreatic cancer. She was born August 2, 1938, in Wapakoneta, OH, the daughter of Melvin and Rita (Fisher) Kentner, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include, two sons, Capt. John (Marisa) Travers, Panama City Beach, FL; Dr. Jeffrey (Joan) Travers, Centerville, OH; daughter Jennifer (David) Lighthiser, Munster IN; grandchildren, Johnny Travers, Angie Travers (Andrew) Odachowski, Justine Travers, Dr. Jared Travers, Jeffrey Travers, Juliet Travers, Jessica Travers, Drew Lighthiser, Joshua Lighthiser, Victoria Lighthiser; great grandsons Luke Odachowski and Ryan Odachowski, brother Thomas (Kathie) Kentner, Wapakoneta, sisters Carolyn (Jim) Pfenning, AR, Judy (Ken) Bell, Wapakoneta, Joanne (Bob Stanley) Oliver, AZ , longtime companion and best friend, Thomas Shifflett, Tallahassee, FL. She was preceded in death by nephew Steven Cale, nephew Gary Oliver, brother-in-law Leo Cale and brother-in-law Richard Oliver.
Jean was a retired nurse from Healthsouth, Panama City, FL. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Wapakoneta; Apollo School of Nursing, Lima, OH, and received an Associate of English degree from Gulf Coast Community College, Panama City, FL. She attended St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Her hobbies and interests included collecting Precious Moments figurines, reading, socializing with friends, and bragging about her children and grandchildren to anyone who would listen. She and Tom enjoyed spending time at their condo in Snowshoe, WV, and made many trips up North to visit family and friends over the years. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Sat.
, Nov. 17, 2018 at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln Ave. , Wapakoneta, with Rev.
Jarred Kohn officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 10-11 a.m. before the service. Memorial contributions may be sent to The American Red Cross Hurricane Michael Relief Fund or The American Cancer Society.
