McAllen, Texas Ramona Ramirez, 98, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the Paxvilla Hospice Facility in McAllen. Ramona was born in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico on October 14, 1920 to Alberto and Maria (Davila) Valadez. She had lived in McAllen for most of her life and enjoyed spending time with family especially going to La Plaza Mall.

Ramona loved to cook and among her many favorites were making menudo, cabrito, tamales and bunuelos. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Marco Ramirez; three children: Sulema Cantu, Marco Ramirez and Armando Ramirez. She is survived by her children: Noelia Ramires, Rosa Maria Ramires (Eliasar) Salinas, Blanca (Antonio) Arriaga, Hermelinda (Jose) Guerrero and Juan Alberto (Malena) Ramirez; brother Adoilfo Valadez; three sisters: Elvira Salinas, Maria Garza and Amelia Panoco; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday, May 16, 2019 with a recital of the Holy Rosary being held at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 17, 2019 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Graveside service with interment following will be at 4:00 pm Friday, May 17, 2019 at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
