Randal Calvin Warren, or as most of you know him “Randy” was born on December 3, 1955 to Calvin and Betty Warren in Florala, Alabama. He is Survived by his brother, Keith Warren and wife Liz; niece, Megan; wife, of 21 years, Tawanna Mason; daughters, Whitney and Jessica Mason; and four grandchildren, Brice, Bailey, Kyle and Kassidy. From an early age Randy had a love and passion for fishing and the outdoors.

He spent many days doing just that with his dad and brother. He loved to get up with the sun go to the beach to catch the tide for the best fishing then spend his day laying on the beach enjoying the warm sun or playing volleyball. Randy had respect, honor, dignity, decency, reliability, cleverness, and an attention to detail in everything he did.

Along with his love for fishing was a love of Alabama football and was a true fan but not an obnoxious one as he’d say. He always said he was a native not a bandwagon fan. Randy served in the United States Air Force from 1973-1977 before returning home to Alabama.

He worked at the local sewing factory as a machine mechanic and when it closed he attended Okaloosa Applied Technology College, graduating top of his class. He became officially certified as an electrician, plumber, carpenter, and HVAC tech. During school he was offered a position at Eglin AFB with the Civil Engineer department.

He was employed there for nearly 16 years as a maintenance mechanic. He loved his job, just working in general. He received numerous awards, medals, and letters of recognition for dedication and hard work.

Always sharing his knowledge with others, he enjoyed helping whenever he could. He was always piddling with something around the house, if it needed to be fixed he was the man to call. Randy also loved taking care of his family.

He was such a blessing to our family, we could not have had a better person in our lives, we were the lucky ones. It is difficult to imagine him not being with us anymore, things will not be the same, especially without his sarcasm. Randy lived a long, respected life, with so much life left, that succumbed to cancer.

As we gather here today to remember and celebrate his life, let us bid farewell as we mourn the loss of a dignified soul, that brought laughter and fulfillment to so many. His kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We will miss him.

It’s not goodbye, only see you later, as Randy said. The family would like to thank Randy’s nurse Monica and Tim with Emerald Coast Hospice. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 11-12:00pm at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the celebration of life starting at 12:00pm.

Burial will follow at Griffith Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview. Guest book and condolences are available online at www.
