Ray Gene “Pete” Wilson, 97, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, formerly of New Mexico, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. He was born May 30, 1921 in Trenton, Texas, son of Alfred C. and Edna Jo (Watson) Wilson. On February 7, 1942, he was united in marriage to Oleta Norris in Durant, Oklahoma.

Oleta preceded him in death on August 5, 2012. Ray worked as a machinist with ACF and then GE, retiring in 1988. He is survived by one daughter, Janette (Wayne) Kohls of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren: Paul (Angie) Kohls of Waterloo, IA, Vickie Rocarek of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Rebecca (Andy) Green of Independence, IA; nine great–grandchildren: Jason Kohls, Stephanie Kohls, Kasandra Rocarek, John Rocarek, Sarah Rocarek, Tayt Johnson, Morgan Kohls, Jordan Green and Dylan Green; and one great–great grandson, Lorenzo Floyd.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Sue Scott. Burial will occur in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas. Memorials may be directed to the family.
