Raymond Danielson, age 86, of Ellsworth, IA, passed away on Saturday night, April 14, 2018 at the Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard, IA. Raymond Dale Danielson was born on November 22, 1931 to Ole and Mona (Metcalf) Danielson at Webster City, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm near Ellsworth and attended Ellsworth High School where he graduated in 1949.

On November 25, 1956 he married Lois Long at the Methodist Church in Stanhope. To this union were born four children-Carol, Joel, Ann and Jon. They farmed the family farm and were well known cattle feeders, topping the Chicago market many times through the years.

Raymond was past President of the Hamilton County Beef producers, 4-H leader, ring man for the Beef show at the Hamilton County Fair, trustee at Trinity Lutheran. He was a devoted Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan. His first love was for his family and following all the activities of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, daughter Carol (Duane) Soma of Jewell, son Joel (Mary) of Story City, daughter Ann of Longmont, Colorado and son Jon (Kristin) of Mason City; nine grandchildren, Melynda (Aaron) Twedt of Des Moines, Lana (Tom) Criswell of Iowa City, Jennifer (Dustin) Blackburn of State Center, Alicia Danielson of Tempe, Arizona, Krista Danielson of Ankeny, Luke Danielson of West Des Moines, Matt, Rachel, and Nick Danielson of Mason City; four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; two sisters-in-law Betsi Danielson and Lorraine McVicker; brother-in-law Lonnie (Sandra) Long and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Oswald, Duane, and Howard and sisters Avis Moody and Anna Marie LeMaster, brothers-in law Frances LeMaster, John Moody, Larry Long and Jim McVicker and sisters-in-law Imo Gene Danielson and Zada Danielson.
