A graveside service for Raymond Derr, age 90, of Katy formerly of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 o’clock in the morning Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Earle’s Chapel Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. He passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Katy, Texas.

Raymond was born November 15, 1927 in Jacksonville to the late George and Annie (Bland) Derr. He loved to travel in his motor home and was known for helping others in need. Raymond… Read More » belonged to a bowling league and enjoyed square dancing and playing dominos.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Grady, Alvin, Wilburn, Buck and Jessie Derr and a sister, Gertie Davis. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Nancy Hess and husband Rusten of Katy; Cheryl Osborn and husband Bill of Spring; and a sister, Bell Pike of Jacksonville.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Jamie Simmons (Kelly), Aaron Osborn (Danell), Jason Osborn, Ashley Hess and Dusten Hess; 3 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Raymond’s family from 5 to 7 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
