Raymond G. “Jerry” Byrne Jr., 87, of Conway, died Friday, May 4, 2018, in Good Samaritan Hospice of Beaver. He was born February 25, 1931, in Sewickley, Pa. , to the late Raymond G. and Eunice Fields Byrne.

He was a retired electrician for Armco Steel Corporation and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. He was a member of the NRA, Rochester Sportsman Club and Ambridge Sportsman Club. Jerry enjoyed shooting skeet and trap.

After his retirement, he worked as a volunteer at Sewickley Valley Hospital. Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his sister, Patricia Mannion and a brother, Donald Byrne.

Surviving are two sons, Richard (Marie) Byrne of Upper St. Clair, and David (Shellie) Byrne of Madison, Ohio, and six grandchildren, Michael (Miriam) Jeremy, Matthew, Peter, Natalie, and Zachary. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC. , 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge.

Family and friends will meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 15th and Virginia Ave. , Monaca, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by his pastor, Father Michael Ruffalo. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Beaver County Special Unit and the United States Navy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 1000 Dutch Ridge Rd. , 4th Floor, Tower A, Beaver, PA 15009.
