Raymond Stanley “Stan” Worth passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at McKay-Dee Hospital surrounded by loving family and a caring hospital staff following an unexpected illness. He was born on March 13, 1943 in Horton, Kansas. He was the oldest son of Gerald and Dorothy Worth.

In 1952, his Air Force family moved to Sculthorpe AFB England where he completed elementary school. He then attended Jr. High and High School in Salina, KS and graduated in Cheyenne, Wyo. On September 6, 1964 Stan married his high school sweetheart, Karen (Patty) Smith in Cheyenne, Wyo.

He graduated from the University of Wyo. with a B/S degree in electrical engineering. Stan was a member of TAU KAPPA EPSILON Fraternity and ROTC.

Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF in 1966. He also earned an MBA in Business Management from the U of U in 1974. While Stan’s AF career was building, he served on multiple bases and test ranges.

He then served at the Pentagon, and in 1983 came to the Utah Test and Training Range as Chief of Test Operations. He managed the range instrumentation section, data and test operations, supporting Air, Ground and Sea Launched cruise missiles. In 1988 he did preliminary development for the Electronic Combat Test Capability.

He retired after 22 years as a Lt. Col having served faithfully and honorably. For the next 18 years Stan worked for TRW/Northrop Grumman as an engineer.

Stan was very faithful to his church, Community United Methodist Church (CUMC). We appreciate the love and support from CUMC at this very difficult time. He was a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandpa and friend.

He enjoyed life, watching sports, golfing, reading, movies, traveling, collectibles, and his beloved dogs. Stan is survived by his wife of 54 years; siblings, Larry and Gary Worth and Sharon (John) Bragg, daughters, Wendy Turnboo (Sam Hatch) and Kelly (Eric) White, grandchildren; Beau (Ashlee Billesbach), Brandon and Brittany Cavnar, Aubri and Cody White (Madison Dykster), great-granddaughters; Malayia and Millie. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the CUMC, 163 W. 4800 So.

, Washington Terrace, Ogden. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
