Renata Whitney, 92, of Torrington, CT, passed away, Thursday, June 7th, at Litchfield Woods. She was the wife of the late George Whitney. Renata was born in Italy, on October 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Palma (Gianello) and Dominic Tonon.

She was a Communicant of Saint Peter’s Church and was a volunteer at Forbes School Library for several years. She was a long time member of Torrington Elks Ladies Bowling League. She is survived by a son, Richard Whitney and wife Doreen of Torrington, and daughters Pamela Chambers of New Hartford and Patricia Pearson and husband William Pearson Jr of Goshen, six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She also leaves a brother Ugo Tonon and sister Olga Suydam. . Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, June 11th at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington, with burial following at Hillside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10-11 AM.
