Obituary for Rev Forrest B. Chilton 80 passed on Thursday, May 17 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. He was born the second son of the late William W. and Mary B Chilton on July 13, 1937. He served our country as a member of the 100th Division.
He worked for many years with the family business, Ram Engineering, and was a retired Baptist minister. After retirement he joined the Sons of the American Revolution and dedicated his time to helping veterans. With the SAR he has served in several state and local offices including Kentucky State Chaplain, President of Kentucky Society SAR, Vice President General of Central District SAR and President of the Governor Issac Shelby Chapter KYSSAR.
He amassed over 10,000 hours with Veterans Administration Volunteer Service and was instrumental in the marking of over 300 Revolutionary War patriot graves. Forrest is preceded in death by his son, Stephen, his parents and brothers Bill, Jr. and Mark. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Elizabeth (Betty) and daughter Cheryl Wallace (Robert), brother Richard (Stefi), grandsons Stephen, Jonathan and Benjamin Wallace and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, from noon to 8 PM and Wednesday, May 23, 11 AM-1 PM at Ratterman’s Brothers Funeral Home East Louisville 12900 Shelbyville Road in Middletown. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 13800 Aiken Road, Louisville, with burial in the church cemetery. Graveside service will be conducted by the Governor Isaac Shelby Chapter KYSSAR.
