Richard C. Beattie, 62, of Andalusia, passed away Thursday January 3, 2019 at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Services will be 10:00am Tuesday at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Andalusia Lions Club, Andalusia Volunteer Ambulance or Clarissa Cook Hospice. Richard was born on March 29, 1956 in Rock Island, the son of Richard R. and L. Dorothy (Wilkens) Beattie.

He was a foreman with Brandt Construction, Milan for the last 38 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and making his homemade salsa.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family and going to watch his great nephews play football and baseball. Survivors include his siblings, Daniel(Deborah) Beattie, New Windsor, Barbara (Russ) Hays, Rock Island, Ruth Ann Rennison, Andalusia; nephews, John (Jennie) Beattie, Jason (Nikki) Beattie, Brandon (Kayla) Rennison, Jeremy (Miranda) Nesseler, Joshua (Jen) Haynes, Aaron (Megan) Haynes; nieces, Janna (Chris) Stoebner, Jennifer (David) Freeman; 14 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Nancy Haynes; great nephew, Roger Beattie.
