Obituary for Richard E. Dickson Sr. Print Richard Dickson, Sr., 87, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2019, after suffering with heart problems for many years. He was a native of Ponto Lake, MN, and often told of his childhood in an orphanage during the Depression. He joined the Navy, and was stationed at San Diego, CA.

Richard loved the outdoors, especially fishing, and spent as much time as he could being with his family in natural surroundings. Richard is a veteran of the Korean War. He received many medals for various accomplishments during his 12 years as a Torpedoman 1st Class in the United States Navy.

He came to Wenatchee in 1971, and after a short time working at Tree Top, he started Dickson’s Painting in Wenatchee, WA. He became well known and loved by many for his fair and honest work ethics and he retired in 2011. He is survived by his loving companion, Madree Burnett; six children: Tom Owens, Cecilia Hernandez, Yvonne Wilson, Anita Bowen, Juanita Rhunke, and Reggie Owens; and an extended family that consists of 14 grandchildren; and lots of great-grandchildren.

A Funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at Chapel of the Valley, 302 9th St., Wenatchee, WA, with Chaplain Jamie Wilhite officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Wenatchee City Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2019, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., and Tuesday, February 5, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Arrangements are by Chapel of the Valley, Wenatchee, WA.
