HAFER, RICHARD G., 55 OF BRANCHLAND, WV, FORMERLY OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, S. Charleston, WV. He was born October 10, 1962 in Indiana, PA. He had formerly worked for the Derry Area School District in the maintenance department.

He was a member of the Poca Baptist Church, Poca, WV. Richard was a US Army Veteran. He belonged to the Derry Rod & Gun Club.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his mother, Ellen (Goff) Hafer Cameron & husband, Joe, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Holly M. Humphreys & husband, Michael, Poca, WV; daughter, Heather R. Lawrence & husband, Teddy, Poca, WV; son, Nicholas Hafer, Branchland, WV; grand daughter, Cierra Lawrence; sister, Wendy Hauser & husband, David, Blairsville, PA; sister, Melissa Gump, Harrisville, WV; brother, William Hafer & wife, Denise, Blairsville, PA; friend, Sherry Barclay and also many Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Richard Hafer; son, Richard “Ricky” Hafer in 2003; maternal grandparents, Ernest & Mary Goff and paternal grandparents, George & Geraldine Hafer.

The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Rev.

Fred W. Craig will officiate. VFW Post #5821 & the American Legion Post #0407 will conduct graveside military services in Blairsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
