Obituary for Richard H. Milling Richard H. Milling Age 83 years, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Alden Courts in Shorewood. He was born in Herscher, Illinois and late of Plainfield. He was employed by ComEd for 40 years, retiring in 1992.

He was a founding member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Joliet, serving as Elder of the Church and Chairman of the Congregation. He was a volunteer at Provena St. Joseph’s Medical Center for over 20 years and served on the Board of Director of the Riverwalk Homeowners Association. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather and loved to make the kids laugh.

He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed watching them win the long-awaited World Series in 2016. Preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Gladys (nee Rice) Milling. His step-mother, Thelma Milling Bauer.

Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy (nee Ohlendorf) Milling; his children, Linda (Dan) Schweers, David (Paula) Milling and Stephen (Mary) Milling; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and his brother, Dr. Paul (Beverly) Milling. Visitation for Richard H. Milling will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church 1910 Black Road in Joliet on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 4 – 8 pm and on Saturday morning, January 5, 2019 beginning at 10:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am. Pastor Loy Schlote officiating.

Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
