Richard “Kenny” K. Sheets, 93, of Genoa, Ohio, died Sunday, July 15, 2018, in Ft. Myers, Florida. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on August 25, 1924, to Percy and Anna (Reuter) Sheets.

He married Katherine M. Romer on November 10, 1946, and she preceded him in death on July 13, 1999. Kenny retired from Owens Technical College and had previously worked for Guardian Industries/Perma Glass in Millbury, Ohio, and the former Rossford Ordnance Depot. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving… Read More » during WWII, a member and past commander of the Adams Township American Legion Post #553, member of the Genoa, Ohio, American Legion Post #324 and the program chairman for the former Cub Scouts, Den 324 of Genoa.

Kenny had been a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Genoa and had served as a deacon. Kenny is survived by his children, Kent (Barbara) Sheets, Kathy Beehler, Karen (Russell) Lenz, six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, James Sheets, John Sheets, Elizabeth Jacobs, Sally M. Waterman and Jean Peters.

A funeral service for Kenny will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., on Friday evening, July 27, 2018, in the funeral home. Military graveside services will be conducted at the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, immediately following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. John’s United Church of Christ, 448 E. Rice St., Elmore, OH 43416; or the donor’s choice.
