Paul “Bill” W. Cherry, 83, of Plymouth, OH passed away June 30, 2018 at Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, OH after a short illness. He was born January 3, 1935 to the late Paul H. and Anna “Ellen” (Hoce) Cherry. He was baptized in 2017 in Norwalk, OH.

He enjoyed living on the farm, riding horses, hunting, attending the National Tractor Pulling Association events and camping with family. For several… Read More » years he volunteered at the Ottawa County Fair in Oak Harbor and still took pleasure in attending the fair annually.

He worked as an Interstate truck driver for many years and was a member of the Teamsters. In recent years he still delighted in going “over the road” to stay connected with friends and family. He is survived by his children Elena Zarate of Greenwich, Paul M. (Barb) Cherry, Kenneth (Lynee) Cherry all of North Fairfield, Dorla (Larry) Risch of Oak Harbor, Jerralayne Zidarin of Springfield, Kevin Cherry of Indiana, Paula (Jeff) Hahn of Defiance, Beth Filson of Swanton, and John Kruse of Woodville; 20 grandchildren,49 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren;and, also by one brother Ralph (Nancy) Cherry.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marian (Risch) Cherry; his mother, Anna “Ellen” (Hoce) Cherry; his father, Paul H. Cherry; his brother, Robert Cherry; his sisters, Marjorie Ropp and Roberta Honaker; and former wife, Maxine (Boggs) Dalton. A special thank you to Heartland Hospice and to Fisher Titus Medical Center Physicians and health care staff. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 165 E. Water Street, Oak Harbor.

Minister, and brother, Ralph Cherry will officiate the funeral service 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 6,2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 9789 W. Oak Harbor SE Road, Oak Harbor, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in Salem Township Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
