James R. Callaway, 80, of Toledo, died July 18, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice. Jim was born April 11, 1938 in Toledo to the late Mack and Lucille Callaway. A graduate of Central Catholic High School, he was employed at GM Powertrain for more than 41 years.

An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed fishing, camping and boating. He also kept active with amateur radio and building and flying remote control airplanes. He was a member and Master Mason at Barton Smith Lodge #613 F&AM.

Callaway; children, Libby and James (Tina) Callaway; step children, Sue Bowman, Dean (Kim) Edwards and Denise (Eric) Hennan; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; and 8 step great grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith M. Callaway; children, Kevin and Lynn Callaway; and sister, Mary Metzger. Visitation is Sunday from 1-7 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave.

(west of Corey Rd. ) where Masonic memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2018 in the funeral home with burial will to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Contributions in Jim’s memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
