Richard L. Bierman, 74, of Providence, passed away Thursday July 19, 2018 alongside his loving daughter Amanda Bierman. He was the husband of the late Carol J. (Harrison) Bierman. Born in Brady Texas, he was the son of the late Albert and Bulah (Cooper) Bierman.

Richard was a Vietnam era Navy veteran stationed at Quonset Point who served on the USS Lake Champlain (CVS-39) and the USS Cadmus (AR-14). He worked as an electronics technician for American Power Converter. He was an avid Harley-Davidson lover and a competitive archer.

He taught marksmanship to the Jr. Rifle Team at Camp Perry. He is survived by his son, Richard L. Bierman Jr.; three daughters, Amanda Bierman, Sally Hitchcock and Katelyn Bierman; a brother, Travis Bierman; three sisters, Mickie Hansen, Myrna Patterson and Lesa Schmitz; four granddaughters, Faith Gibson, who was his “Little Nurse”, Melodie Bierman, Stacy Bierman and Holly Hitchcock; a daughter-in-law, Stephanie Bierman, and two sons-in-law, Ricardo Tavares and Greg Hitchcock. He was the half-brother of the late Laverne Bierman.

A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence.
