BIRNBAUM, Richard S. September 9, 1945 – January 20, 2019. He was a loving husband to Janet Birnbaum for 50 years, whom he met at Ohio University, and a loving father to his son, Ronald Birnbaum. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Law School, and an attorney since the 1970s, who had a solo practice in Family Law and Parole Law in White Plains, NY.

He was an active member of the Westchester County Family Law section, and championed clients who had no one else to stand up for them, often without a fee. He was an expert on Broadway musical theater and he enthusiastically participated in the Westchester County Bar Association FROLICS. More recently, he invested in several Broadway musicals as a producer.

He was also a founding member of Tomorrows Children’s Fund, a non-profit organization that provides support for children with cancer and their families. He enjoyed family vacations, especially to Martha’s Vineyard. He loved all sports, reading, travel and most of all his family and friends.

Rick’s kindness, sensitivity, warmth and sense of humor were apparent to all who knew him. Funeral Service 12 Noon Wednesday Woodlands Community Temple, 50 Worthington Rd, White Plains, NY 10607.
